The Oklahoma Public Health Association at their Annual meeting, on March 30, 2007, presented the Public Health Program Award to the Tulsa County Medical Society for the Tulsa County Unused Drug Recycling Program For a Healthier Oklahoma Image

Recycling Innovator of the Year. November 13, 2006, at the America Recycles Day Celebration, the Tulsa County Medical Society was presented this award. The group was honored for its prescription medication recycling program that provides prescription drugs to indigent and low-income families. This year, the program has filled more than 8,200 prescriptions with drugs that would otherwise be thrown away. Image


Tulsa County Pharmacist, Art McMullen, receives the 2007 award of "Best Preceptor" from Dr. Nancy Ray, Professor, University of Oklahoma School of Pharmacy in Tulsa. Art is the pharmacist in charge of dispensing recycled medications. Pharmacy students rotate through his agency and voted him the "Best".
